Ohio follows Federal OSHA. The state doesn’t mandate OSHA cards, but Ohio’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) offers unique resources that can help offset training costs.
Ohio BWC: Free and Subsidized Training
Ohio BWC is one of the most active workers’ comp programs in the country for safety training. Take advantage of these resources:
- Safety grants Employers can apply for grants to fund safety equipment and training
- Safety Council discounts Employers who participate in local Safety Councils and meet safety performance goals receive workers’ comp premium rebates
- BWC training library Free safety training resources and materials
- Consultation services Free, confidential workplace safety consultations
If your employer participates in Ohio BWC programs, your safety training may be partially or fully funded.
